2.Reverse repetitive peak voltage(VRRM)or open state repetitive peak voltage(VDRM),commonly known as withstand voltage.The VRRM/VDRM of commonly used silicon controlled rectifier is generally several hundred volts to one thousand volts.
3.Control electrode trigger current(IGT),commonly known as trigger current.The IGT of common silicon controlled rectifier is generally several microamps to tens of milliamps.

1.The most basic use of ordinary thyristor is controllable rectification.
The familiar diode rectifier circuit belongs to uncontrolled rectifier circuit.If the diode is replaced by a thyristor,a controllable rectifier circuit can be formed.Take the simplest single-phase half wave controllable rectifier circuit as an example.During the positive half cycle of sinusoidal AC voltage U2,if the control pole of VS does not input trigger pulse Ug,VS still cannot be connected.Only when U2 is in the positive half cycle and trigger pulse Ug is applied to the control pole,the thyristor will be triggered and connected.
2.One of the most important functions of silicon controlled rectifier is to stabilize voltage and current.
Silicon controlled rectifier is widely used in automatic control,electromechanical field,industrial electrical and household appliances.The silicon controlled rectifier is an active switching element,which is kept in a non channel state until it is triggered by a few control signals or”ignited”to make it channel connected.Once it is ignited,it will remain channel connected even if the trigger signal is withdrawn.To cut it off,a reverse voltage can be applied between its anode and cathode or the current flowing through the silicon controlled rectifier diode can be reduced to a certain value.
