The most important feature of the TRICONEX system is the fault-tolerant control capability that can simultaneously meet high reliability and high availability. In order to ensure the high reliability and high availability of the system, the controller, I/0 module and communication are triple designed. The control system can identify the fault of the control system component, automatically eliminate the faulty component, and allow the fault component to be repaired online without interrupting the operation of the process while continuing to complete the specified task. Any faults and related data are stored in NVRAM, and in the event of any channel failure in the I0 module, the system guarantees that the module can operate for 1500 hours and still meet the TUV AK6 level.

The TRICONEX Safety Control System is a state-of-the-art fault-tolerant controller based on the dual module multiplex (TMR) architecture. TMR is an integrated three-way isolation system that performs a wide range of diagnostics in each independent control system. The system adopts two out of three logical voting method to provide a highly complete, error-free, uninterrupted process so that no single point of failure will cause system failure.

The MP controller uses three independent channels, each of which executes the application independently in parallel with the other two channels, and votes on all digital input/output signals from the field by means of a patented hardware votter, while the analog signals are processed as intermediate values. Because each channel is separated from the other channels, a single point of failure of any channel will not affect the other channels, if a hardware failure occurs in one channel, and the other channels do not take it into account, during this period of uninterrupted processing by the controller, you can easily plug in and replace the noisy module online.

The use of the system is very simple, because from the user’s point of view, the operation of the TMR system is the same as that of the single-channel control system. The user can connect the sensor and the actuator to a single terminal, just write a set of application logic, and the rest of the work is managed and handled by the control system.

The system carries out extensive diagnosis for each independent sub-circuit, each module and each functional circuit, and monitors and reports operational errors. All diagnostic information for application and operation is stored. This diagnostic data can be used by programmers to modify the execution of the controller or to perform process maintenance directly.
