The TRICONEX MP6004 replaces the roles of the primary and backup domain controllers

The domain controller grants access to another domain in the trust relationship so that a user logging into one domain can access resources in the other domain.

TRICONEX MP6004 Earlier versions of Windows(such as Windows NT) have a domain controller for each domain, called the primary domain controller.

All other domain controllers are backup domain controllers.

Starting with Windows 2000, Active Directory takes over the role of the primary domain controller and the backup domain controller.

The domain controllers in these domains are considered equal because all controllers have full access to the account database stored on their computers.

When a network consists of hundreds of computers, managing authentication for each computer can be too complex.

TRICONEX MP6004 To simplify this task, one computer (domain controller) can be dedicated to managing all authentication for all other computers (clients).

All login credentials for all client computers and devices connected to the network are stored in the DC’s active directory. Active Directory is shared by all computers on the network, and every time a user tries to log in, their credentials are checked against the credentials saved in this home directory database.

To enforce security, no one other than the administrator of the DC has the right to change security or login information, or to add a new computer to the domain.

The TRICONEX MP6004 is often a prime target for cyberattacks because it is the main entry point for the entire infrastructure. To prevent serious data breaches, they are usually protected by strong cybersecurity measures.

To ensure that network resources are always stable and readily available, DCs is typically deployed as a cluster.

The network administrator can specify a single primary domain controller (PDC) as well as additional backup domain controllers (BDCS). Periodically, the PDC automatically creates backup copies of the Active Directory database on all BDCS and stores them in read-only format.

If the server acting as the domain controller is lost, the domain can still run. If the PDC is unavailable or fails, the administrator can designate an alternative BDC to assume that role.
