For industrial end users and facilities using networked motor control centers (MCCS) and motor control panels. The C441 communication module extends product compatibility to the S811+ soft starter, simplifies the C440 overload relay solution, and can be installed independently for general-purpose I/O applications.
The C441 module provides PROFIBUS, Modbus, and DeviceNet for S811+(Ethernet /IP and Modbus TCP have been released) to enhance and simplify communication, monitoring, and control applications. These modules provide a universal solution for the S611 and S811+ and provide standard onboard I/O. All in all, the Eaton family offers a wide range of communication protocols that can be easily integrated into any programmable logic controller (PLC) or distributed control system (DCS).
The C441 communication module is ideal for system integrators and original equipment manufacturers (Oems) whose panel applications contain soft starters or initiators that need to communicate with higher level PLCS /DCS, or interface with network systems using non-communication products. Both the starter and the soft starter communicate using the same C441 series module. These modules come standard with four inputs and two relay outputs, with 120 volt alternating current (VAC) and 24 volt direct current (VDC) input options. The C441 communication module can also be used independently for independent I/O applications.
The product family has been designed with a particular focus on the common need to upgrade outdated technologies without significant engineering work. The series supports backward compatibility with traditional motor control platforms. The C441 DeviceNet communication module contains I/O components in the same size and layout as the Advantage Starter Assemblies(wpon idna) and IT Starter (DNSAP) platforms, facilitating technology upgrades without any programming changes. Thus, with the C441 module, a seamless migration path from the traditional entry platform to the new C440 and C441 control and monitoring systems is possible.
