An excitation control system is a software-enabled generator control system for steam (including nuclear), gas and hydro generators. The EX2100e has a configuration for new installations and retrofits of existing systems. The EX2100e control hardware and software are an integral part of the Mark* VIe control product line.
The integration between excitation systems, turbine controls, static starters, distributed control systems (DCS) and human machine interfaces (Hmis) that do not require third-party interfaces or gateways is seamless.
For stand-alone retrofit applications, tight integration with plant control systems is possible through a variety of protocols, including Modbus/TCP or hardwired. The Ex2100e product family includes simplex and redundant automatic voltage regulator systems, typically used for small excitation currents. The solution is specifically designed to address generators of all sizes and is embedded with all the necessary controls, limitations and protections to help generators operate safely. This flexible excitation product can be customized to retrofit most configurations.
