The commonly used trigger circuits include resistance-capacitance phase-shift bridge trigger circuit, single-junction transistor trigger circuit, crystal triode trigger circuit, trigger circuit using small thyristor to trigger large thyristor, and so on.

The main parameters of thyristor are:

1. Rated on-state average current IT The average value of 50 Hz sine half-wave current that can be continuously passed between anode and cathode under certain conditions.

2. The positive blocking peak voltage VPF can be repeatedly applied to the forward peak voltage at both ends of the thyristor when the control pole is open without triggering signal and the anode forward voltage does not exceed the conduction voltage. The peak value of the forward voltage borne by the thyristor cannot exceed the parameter value given in the manual.

3. Reverse blocking peak voltage VPR When the thyristor is applied with reverse voltage and in the reverse off state, the reverse peak voltage can be repeatedly applied at both ends of the thyristor. When used, the parameter value given in the manual cannot be exceeded.

4. Triggering voltage VGT is the minimum control pole current and voltage required for the thyristor to switch from off state to on state when a certain voltage is applied between anode and cathode at the specified ambient temperature.

5. Maintaining current IH is the minimum anode forward current necessary to maintain the conduction of thyristor when the control pole is open at the specified temperature. Many new types of thyristor elements have come out one after another, such as the fast thyristor suitable for high-frequency applications, the bidirectional thyristor that can be turned on in two directions with positive or negative trigger signals, the thyristor that can be turned on with positive trigger signals, and the thyristor that can be turned off with negative trigger signals.
