ISRA VISION showed a new battery detection system for soft bags-TouchSTAR at the K 2022 exhibition.This system is a new member of the company’s lithium battery testing series.With this application,ISRA VISION enables manufacturers to monitor every step of the entire battery production process,help them find problems and defects at an early stage,and ensure that products meet stringent quality requirements.
Lithium batteries used in electric vehicles must meet extremely high safety and performance requirements.Therefore,in order to ensure the reliability and safe driving of the vehicle power supply system,it is essential to monitor the production process of the entire battery.To this end,ISRA VISION has innovatively developed online and offline detection schemes for soft pack batteries for comprehensive monitoring of production process and product quality.
PouchSTAR is equipped with a new LED light source technology and a high-resolution area array camera developed by ISRA VISION.High-performance hardware increases the extensibility of the software system with rich functions,and can classify and analyze the visual data.Thanks to the automatic calibration of cameras and the built-in GigE Vision high-speed interface,the installation of PouchSTAR is simpler and can be easily integrated into the Internet smart factory at full speed of production.
The system can be directly integrated into the production line,which is convenient for all-round detection of the flexible battery.It is usually used to detect 2D and 3D surface defects,such as dents,bumps,scratches,wrinkles and pollution caused by electrolyte,in the battery assembly process and after vacuum pumping.The system can also reliably detect defects at corners and edges.PouchSTAR can also detect the shape,size and sealing defects of the battery.
Another major feature of this new detection system is that it can use the built-in OCR program to automatically check and record the barcode and data code.This can ensure that the batteries supplied to customers are free of defects,thus preventing costly recalls.Thanks to the tracking and tracing function,once the product has problems,the product quality can be traced to optimize the production process.
Detection solution for the whole battery production process
In addition to the new PouchSTAR,ISRA VISION also provides other testing solutions for lithium battery manufacturers.One of them is the modified SMASH series,which is designed for automatic detection of electrode coating,diaphragm and its coating(such as PVDF coating).The installed capacity of this advanced integrated solution has exceeded 1000 sets worldwide.
