The DR-200 is an industrial ADSL router that is compatible with current and future remote telemetry requirements and is designed for use in industrial control system applications. The DR-200 uses ADSL broadband technology and is capable of communicating with remote sites at speeds of up to 8 Mbit/s. It has a 4-port Ethernet switch and a Dsub25 RS232 serial port for local connections. The RS 232 port can be used to connect serial devices (PLC, RTU or I/O). It can also be used as a replacement or backup with a Westermo modem in the event of an ADSL line interruption. The DR-200 router has a built-in firewall and five IPsec VPN tunnels, protected by 3DES, AES, SSL, and SSH encryption protocols, as well as MD5 and SHA1 key exchange protocols. It optionally supports up to 50 VPN tunnels.
These features are based on the latest security technologies to ensure that remote sites are protected from denial-of-service attacks and hackers. VPNS (virtual private networks) increase security and enable the establishment of fully secure encrypted links between several sites. The result is a virtual private line that uses a simple commercial ADSL Internet service. VPNS are often used to replace high-cost, dedicated leased lines. The VPN tunnel can be terminated by the DR-200 ADSL bridge/router. The DR-200 comes with a complete mounting kit for DIN rail, wall or shelf mounting. Its rugged metal housing, wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C) and 24 VDC power supply enable the DR-200 to be used in harsh environments. The DR-200 can also be used to remotely browse, edit, or modify web pages for PLC or network connected devices.
It can handle email transfer and file transfer via FTP server. It also supports VRRP(Virtual Redundant Router Protocol), which allows a gateway address to be shared between several routers, and provides multiple WAN backup paths. For complex network applications, DR-200 supports OSPF and RIP2. Ethernet interfaces support multicast IGMP, VLAN, SNMP, SNTP, FTP, and standard TCP, UDP, and DHCP protocols. If the site is not accessible via ADSL, WESTERMO can provide a GPRS router (MR-200).
