On October 30,the”35 kV thermoplastic polypropylene low carbon environmental protection cable”,which was developed by the State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute Co.,Ltd.and applied the polypropylene cable material produced by Wanma,achieved a kilometer-level demonstration application in Tianjin.
As an important part of the 35 kV Buwo Line Cable Project of the State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company,the project continues to provide reliable guarantee for the safe power supply in Yangliuqing District,Xiqing District,Tianjin,and marks the first cable line that uses the polymer polypropylene cable material produced by Wanma to be put into normal operation.
Under the background of”carbon peak and carbon neutralization”,compared with the widely used cross-linked polyethylene cable material,polypropylene,as a thermoplastic non-cross-linked cable material,has excellent insulation performance,high temperature resistance(105℃)grade,and plasticization recycling and other advantages,not only has great advantages in improving the current carrying capacity,but also has unique highlights in simplifying the processing process,reducing costs,and improving production rate,It is more in line with the demand of environmental protection power cables with high transmission capacity and represents the future development direction of high-voltage power cable materials.
In order to implement the enterprise vision of”environmental protection new material leader”,Wanma Polymer actively participated in the reform of power cable manufacturing industry.In order to fill the gap of domestic environment-friendly modified polypropylene materials,Wanma Polymer started the research and development of polypropylene cable materials in January 2021.
Through consulting a large number of relevant documents and materials,combining with the factors restricting the domestic development of polypropylene cable materials,through careful analysis and thinking,carefully design the development plan,and organize a large number of human and material resources to carry out the research of formula,process,batch production and other technologies,and find out the key to the problem.
How to select the type of polypropylene,elastomer and carbon black,how to control the electrical,thermal,mechanical and processing properties of the product,and the processing technology of polypropylene are all the key points and difficulties of the project.Wanma Polymer is not afraid of the challenge,and adopts the process line of elastomer melt blending modification,repeated tests and deliberation,and devotes itself to the development of polypropylene insulation material WMPP-J03 and shielding material WMPP-P03.In terms of comprehensive mechanical properties It has significant advantages in electrical performance and temperature resistance.After a year of research and development and overcoming difficulties,the pilot test and medium-voltage polypropylene cable trial production were successfully completed by the end of 2021,and sent to Shanghai National Cable Testing Co.,Ltd.for testing.So far,the trial material verification has been completed in many domestic cable factories.The customer has successfully trial-produced 35kV polypropylene cable with this product and successfully passed the type test of Shanghai Cable Research Institute.
